One way:-
Cross multiply
x*7 = 7
42*3 = 126
7x = 126
7x/7 = 126/7
x= 18
Final answer: x= 18
Another way:-
x/42 = 3/7
7 times what equals 42? 6
3*6 = 18
Final answer: x= 18
