Pituitary gland is the answer. The pituitary gland is sometimes referred to as the master gland because it controls several other hormone-releasing glands. Some of the glands controlled by the pituitary gland are the thyroid gland, the ovaries, the testicles (testes) and the adrenal glands. However the pituitary gland does not act sorely alone. In some cases , the hypothalamus prompts or signals the pituitary gland to act. The hypothalamus is the link between the endocrine system and nervous system.
