How do you add fractions that have uncommon denominators

Explanation:

first, you'll wanna make the same denominator what you wanna do if first multiply both the bottom number for example. 4/5 x 1/3. It would then be 15 after that you'll wanna multiply one of the uncommon denominators with the opposite fractions numerator like this: 4 x 3 = 12. Then you'll do the other! 5 x 1 = 5. Which would make the new numerators for both numbers! 4/5 would then be 12/15. And 1/3 would be 5/15. Add those together getting 17/15! :)

You need to find a common denominator. for 1/4 and 1/2 you would multiply the 1/2, top and bottom by two, to get a common denominator of 4. Then you would be adding 1/4 and 2/4 to get 3/4.
