If the speed of an object decreases to one-half, what happens to its momentum?

It doubles
It remains the same
It decreases to one half
It decreases to one fourth

Look at the formula for momentum:

Momentum = (mass) x (speed) .

If the mass doesn't change, then whatever happens to the speed on
one side of the equation, the same thing happens to the momentum
on the other side.

If the speed decreases to one half, then the momentum does too.
