Sarah's speed is
( 1(3)/(4) miles)/(50 mins)

Is the same as,
( (7)/(4) mile)/(50 mins)

We need to find her speed in miles/hr.
We have her speed in miles/min.

So, we have to convert the 50 mins to hour.

1 minute =
(1)/(60) hour
∴ 50 minute =
50* (1)/(60) hours

=

50* (1)/(60) hours

=

(50)/(60) hours

=

(5)/(6) hours

So, Sarah's speed in miles per hour is -
((7)/(4) miles)/( (5)/(6) hrs).

Also, as
(7)/(4) is equal to 1.75.

And, as
(5)/(6) is equal to 0.83.

So, Sarah's speed can also be expressed as
(1.75 miles)/(0.83 hrs)

50 minutes= 5/6 hr

(1 3/4 miles)/ (5/6 hr)= 2.1 miles/hr

Hope this would help~
