We need to find out how many ounces in 1 pound.
1 pound = 16 ounces.
Now let us set up a proportion to solve.
1/16 = 3.2/x
Cross multiply.
1*x = 1x
16*3.2 = 51.2
51.2 = 1x
x = 51.2
Final answer: The amount of ounces in 3.2 pounds are
51.2 ounces.
51.2 ounces.

So first of all, we know that 16 oz= 1 pound.
Let's do a quick calculation:
3.2 pounds*(16 oz/1 pound)=
51.2 oz.
Note that
pound
(in 3.2 pounds) and
pound
(in 1 pound) cancels out so you get the oz unit.
Hope that would help :))
