regular excercise induces endorphins, which are happy chemicals. as well the exercise releases muscle tension and exercise is a major stress releaver.

Regular exercies improves cardiovascular function during times of stress by improving and increasing the ability of the body to handle acute physical stress. The main reason why it does this is because intense physical activity by itself is a short-term source of stress. Therefore, people exposed to this ttype of stress only feel better after tackling with more and more problems.
