In the green zone, air quality is termed as good. In the green zone of the chart, points are awarded from 0 - 50. The lower the figure the cleaner the air. The chart is updated daily. New York has a program to monitor air quality. It is called the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation or just DEC in short. DEC continuously measures level of polluting substances in the air and reports them in real time on their DEC website and also through broadcasts.
