The answer is B. 14

I just used the formula for surface area of a rectangular prism and inputted each option

l = 14 works

There is a formula for length but it requires the volume. This is it

l = V/w×h

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Surface area of a rectangular prism = 488 sq. inches

Height of a rectangular prism = 8 inches

Base of a rectangular prism = 6 inches

Let the length of a rectangular prism be 'l'.

As we know that "Surface area of rectangular prism":


Area=2(lb+bh+hl)\\\\488=2(6l+8* 6+8l)\\\\(488)/(2)=48+8l+6l\\\\244-48=14l\\\\196=14l\\\\(196)/(14)=l\\\\l=14\ inches

Hence, the length of square prism is 14 inches.

Therefore, Option 'B' is correct.
