When you divide a whole number by a decimal that is less than 1, the quotient is greater that the whole number. Why?

because you are dividing a # by something that is smaller than it

Because division means "How many times can this go into that ?"

A decimal less than ' 1 ' is a piece of ' 1 ', so it can go into a number \
more times than the number.
