t is also equal to 1t so if you add 1t+0.03t you would get
1.03t

If you would like to simplify the expression
t + 0.03 * t
, you can calculate this using the following steps:
t + 0.03 * t = 1 * t + 0.03 * t = (1 + 0.03) * t = 1.03 * t
The correct result would be
1.03 * t
.
