According to the given question we have the following equation:

Y = AB - 9

A would be calculated as follows:

Y = AB - 9

Move -9 to the other side

So,

Y+9=AB

Finally move B to the other side and the A would be as follows:

Y+9/B=A

A=(Y+9)/B
