To rent a certain meeting room, a college charges a reservation fee of $37 and an additional fee of $7.70 per hour. The history club wants to spend less than $90.90 on renting the meeting room. What are the possible amounts of time for which they could rent the meeting room? Use t for the number of hours the meeting room is rented, and solve your inequality for t .

Answer: 7hours≥t

Given the data, the following inequality can be made.

90.90≥37+7.70t
subtract 37 from both sides
53.90≥7.70t
divide both sides by 7.70
7hours≥t

The meeting room can be rented for no more than 7 hours.
