the correct answer is 48 because 4 of the 1/4's could be used to fill 4 bowls each so 4 x 12 = 48

For this question, you'd divide 12 by 1/4. To do this, you multiply 12 by the reciprocal of 1/4. The reciprocal is 4/1, or 4. So 12*48=48
He will use 48 bowls
