Germany became a satellite of the Soviet Union following World War II.

Not the whole of Germany became a satellite of the Soviet Union. A part of Berlin, that was controlled by the Soviets following World War II was, however, a satellite for them because they exerted control over that part and controlled various aspects of life in Berlin.
