the slope intercept form which is also expressed as the variable b : 3
the new equation found which is now written in slope intercept form: y= 1/2x + 3

The\ slope-intercept\ form:y=mx+b\\\\m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)\\\\(-2;\ 2);\ (2;\ 4)\\\\m=(4-2)/(2-(-2))=(2)/(4)=(1)/(2)\\\\y=(1)/(2)x+b;\ (2;\ 4)\\\\substitute\ x=2\ and\ y=4:\\\\(1)/(2)\cdot2+b=4\\\\1+b=4\\\\b=4-1\\\\b=3\\\\y-intercept\ is\ 3.\\\\Answer:y=(1)/(2)x+3
