Earthquakes, mountain ranges, and volcanic activity generally occur together in a well defined bands in specific regions.

Studies on tectonics show that crustal activities are occurring world wide. Earthquake, volcanoes, and mountain ranges do not occur randomly. There are special zones in which they all occur.

Earthquakes occur in bands. One goes around the Pacific Ocean, another runs horizontally through Eurasia, and a third is found in the general area of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

The regions where earthquakes occur is also where mountain ranges and volcanoes are found.
