Glad that the carpet and the tiles aren't overlapped, that'd be harder... and is a bad design.
so 1/2 = 2/4
2/4 + 1/4 (carpet + tile) = 3/4
It seems like 3/4, or three quarters, of the floor is now covered by carpet or tile!
