Answer=7

Lets write the an equation for the information given
8(x-3)=x+25
subtract x from both sides
8(x-3)-x=25
8x-24-x=25
7x-24=25
add 24 to both sides
7x=49
divide both sides by 7
x=7

Given: Eight times the result of subtracting 3 from a number is equal to the number increased by 25 what is the number.

Let x be the number.

According to the question, we have

8(x-3)=x+25

⇒8x-24=x+25 [open parenthesis]

⇒8x-24-x=25 [Subtract x from both sides ]

⇒7x-24=25

⇒7x=49 [Add 24 to both sides ]

⇒x=7 [divide both sides by 7 ]
