Determine the slope and the y-intercept. 
y = 5x + 6

All function of type: y = ax + b

a = slope b = intersept

So:

slope = 5
intersept = 6

When that equation is graphed, it produces a straiught line. The slope
of the line is 5, and the line intersects the y-axis at y=6.
