English military experts created the colony of Georgia as a military "buffer zone" between Florida and South Carolina.This buffer zone was intentionally created to protect the colonies of the British that lied north of the Savannah river. the protection was required to stop the Spanish migrations. This buffer zone had in added importance for the British also. The buffer zone was also there to stop the slaves from escaping the clutches of the British and seeking freedom in the Spanish controlled regions. So it can be easily identified that there was special importance of this buffer zone to the British in general.
