New machine has productivity (measured in the number of product details) 12% greater than the last model . After replacing the machines during renovation ,a plant has 5% fewer models than it had old models before. By what percent did the number of product details on this plant change?

Solution

Let x the original productivity

With the first case the new productivity would be:

1.12 x

After the second case the new productivity is given by:

(1-0.05)* 1.12x = 1.064x

Then the increase can be founded on tihis way:


(1.064x)/(x)\cdot100=6.4

the number of product details on this plant change by 6.4%
