The set is a function because each element x of each pair (x, y) has a single corresponding y.

Okay if you want a function each set has a rule. So let's say f(x)=3x+4. Then just follow the rule and the result you get from following the rule will be your y coordinate. Let's try 1 for x. (3*1)+4 = 7. So one of the sets for this function would be (1,7). Now if you didn't want a function just grab ordered pairs that don't have a specific rule to them
