t= outside temp
-109.3= t-184.9
add 184.9 to each side
t=75.6
it is 75.6 degrees F outside

Answer:

An equation : −109.3°F = Outside temperature -184.9°F.

Outside temperature = 75 .6°F.

Explanation:

Given : The temperature of dry ice is −109.3°F. This is 184.9°F less than the outside temperature.

To find : Write and solve an equation to find the outside temperature t (in degrees Fahrenheit).

Solution : We have given

Temperature of dry ice = −109.3°F.

Let the outside temperature = T

According to question :

Dry ice temperature is 184.9°F less than outside temp.

−109.3°F = Outside temperature -184.9°F.

On adding both sides by 184.9

Outsides temperature = −109.3°F + 184.9°F

Outside temperature = 75 .6°F.

Therefore, An equation : −109.3°F = Outside temperature -184.9°F.

Outside temperature = 75 .6°F.
