b. the way the species obtains what it needs to reproduce
A habitat is the place where plants and animals live. Most of the time it refers to a neighborhood since plants and animals need habitat, food, shelter and a place to raise its young in order to live. On the other hand, a niche is considered to be the smallest unit of habitat. There is what we call as the habitat niche and the ecological niche. A niche can either be described as the way the species obtains what it needs to survive, the job the organism has within its environment and the place in which the species lives.
