Krebs cycle produces NADH which is a high energy electron carrier.NADH is important to the electron transport chain because it initiates the reactions of the chain. During the electron transport chain process, NADH gives up the H to become NAD+. In this reaction, two hydrogen atoms bearing their two electrons are removed from NADH. The two electrons are passed down through a series of proton pumps to eventually react with oxygen which is the final electron acceptor (when the process is aerobic). By the end of the process 34 ATP molecules are produced.
