What was the most important thing to Benjamin Franklin?

Well, he didn't invent the lightbulb--that was done by Thomas Edison. He did do valuable research on electricity, establishing that lightning was basically electricity.

I'd say his most important contribution was serving as a member of the Continental Congress, which wrote the Declaration of Independence.
