Jon and jim are cutting a log jon cut 1/5 of the log on one end while jim cut 2/9 of the log on the other side how much of the log is left

1 - (1/5 + 2/9) = …

1/5 → 9/45
2/9 → 10/45

45/45 - (9/45 + 10/45)
= 45/45 - 19/45
= 26/45


26/45 of the log is left.
