Flowers usually contains more stamens than pistils.


This is because pollen is like sperms they must be made in large quantities. Much of it is lost and very few they do reach the stigma to fertilize the ovules.

A pollen grain can get the stigma of a pistil through water, wind, insects, and animals. Stamen is termed as a male reproductive organ of a flower which produces pollen. Stamen contains two parts which are stalk and another whereby stalk is called filament.
