Example:

Solar energy ==> stored in chemical form in a tree as the tree grows

Chemical energy in the wood ==> released during burning

Heat from the burning wood ==> absorbed by water,
makes the water boil

Steam holds great energy as heat,
steam pressure is used to turn a steam turbine

Kinetic energy of the turbine turns an electric generator

Electrical energy from the generator flows through
cables to your house, is available at outlets

You plug your battery charger into an outlet,
electrical energy flows through the charger
into the rechargeable batteries, where it is
stored until you want to use it.
