First you need to get both x variables on the same side of the equation.
0.75x – 18.50 = 0.65 x
0.75x + (-0.75x) – 18.50 = 0.65x – 0.75x
-18.50 = -0.1x
-18.50/-0.1 = -0.1x/-0.1
185 = x
