All we need to do to answer this is divide the amount they made by 3 (the number of students).
48.75 ÷ 3 = 16.25
Check:-
16.25 × 3 = 48.75
So, each student out of the 3 get
$16.25
at the bake sale.

Assuming each student was given equal compensation, take 48.76/3 = $16.25
