if they have the same denominator, just add the numeraotrs together. so, 7+3=10 so it would be 10/17. The denominator never changes if they are the same. Glad I could help :P

since they have the same denoenators (bottom number) you can just add the top numbers and keep the denomenators the same
basically the numberator(number on top) tells how many parts you have and the denoenator tells how many parts the whole has so
1/2 means you have 1 out of 2 parts
so the euation we have is
7/17+3/17=
this mean
7 parts out of 17 +3 parts out of 17
so obviously we do (7+3) parts out of 17 meaning 10/17
