Why do liquids and gases take the shape of their containers while solids do not?

Particles of a liquid - Spaced out, but still quite close together.
GASES - VERY spaced out, can move anywhere.
Solids: Stay in one place. They cannot move but can only vibrate.
Hope this helps :)
