3x - 14 = x + 2
- x - x
2x - 14 = 2
+ 14 + 14
2x = 16

4y - 7 = y + 11
- y - y
3y - 7 = 11
+ 7 + 7
3x = 18

x = 6
(x, y) = (8, 6)

The answer is D.
