Mariachi is the sum of a cultural revolution expressed through a group of musicians, dressed in popular clothing such as charro suits. It encompasses the essence of Mexico and its people. It embodies the cultural, spiritual and traditional aspects of Mexico. Their songs are about machismo, love, betrayal, death politics, revolutionary heroes and animals (La Cucaracha). American movies that include a Mexican culture often portray Mexico as a place with macho men whose lives involved charro, tequila, and the mariachi.
