- (2)/(5) x+6=8
Common denominator is 5

((-2)x)/(5) +6=8

5( ((-2)x)/(5) +6)=5*8
Distributhing 5 through parentheses

( \\ot5(-2)x)/( \\ot5) +5*6=5*8

(-2)x+5*6=5*8

(-2)x+30=5*8

-2x+30=40

-2x=40-30

-2x=10 /: -2

x=-5
The answer is:
x=-5

If you would like to solve the equation - 2/5 * x + 6 = 8, you can do this using the following steps:

- 2/5 * x + 6 = 8
- 2/5 * x = 8 - 6
- 2/5 * x = 2 /*(-5/2)
x = 2 * (- 5/2)
x = - 5

The correct result would be -5.
