Point L has coordinates (3,-5). The coordinates of point L' after a reflection are (-3,-5). Without graphing, tell which axis point L was reflected across. Explain your answers.

The axis which the point is reflected is vertical because for two different x-values, there is one y-value. In this case, you can tell that the vertical axis is x=0, which is basically the y-axis itself. To find the reflection point, find the average between the two x values. (3+(-3))/2 0/2 0 This value 0 is the x-value of the vertical axis.
