Polysaccharides and disaccharides are carbohydrates made of simple sugars such as glucose. Disaccharides are carbohydrates made up of two simple sugars by a process of condensation while polysaccharides are carbohydrates similar to disaccharides that consist of three or more molecules and are joined by a chemical link called glycosidic bonds. Sucrose is a disaccharide made up of simple sugars glucose and fructose, while starch is a polysaccharides consisting of a large number of glucose units joined by glycosidic bonds.
