F = v + at. Do it step by step. 1) Subtract v from both sides => F - v = at 2) Divide both terms by t => [F - v] / t = a. Therefore, the answer is a = [F - v] / t This equation tells that the acceleration equals the difference of the final velocity and the initial velocity, divided by the time elapsed to reach the final velocity.
