From the information we have, 45 pounds is only 75 % of the total cost.

The total cost will be at 100%.

we first write out 75 % in its equivalent form:

75% is the same as 75/100

75/100 = 0.75

And 100% is the same as 100/100

100/100 = 1

Now we form an equation:

0.75 = 45

1 = x

where x is the total cost, that is 100% price.

we cross multiply the equation to get:

0.75 *x = 45 * 1

0.75x = 45

x = 45/0.75

x = 60

The full cost is 60 pounds.
