1) Give an example of a rational number AND an irrational number. Explain how someone could tell the difference between your two examples.

2) If you convert your example of a rational number into a decimal, does it terminate? If you convert your example of a rational number into a decimal, does it repeat any digits? Explain your answers.

3) Can every repeating decimal be written as a rational number? Explain why or why not.

Answer:

1. Ratoinal= 2

irrrational= 8.34284

A rational number can be put into a fraction while an irrational cannot.

My irrational number is a never-ending decimal that never repeats and my rational number is a whole number.

2.I don't know what it means to terminate. If I convert my rational number into a decimal no it does not repeat any digits because the decimal form of 2 would just be 2.0

3. A repeating decimal can be written and a rational number because it can be put into a fraction. ex; 4/9 is a fraction and in decimal, form it is 0.444444444...
