4.8 miles, because 1.5 goes into 3 twice, so you multiply 2.4 by 2 to get 4.8.

As three hours divided by 2 is 1.5 hours, we know that to find how far the person walks in hours, we simply have to double the distance the person walked in 1.5 hours.
2.4*2=4.8
The person walked 4.8 miles in three hours.
Does that make sense?
