A car travels at a constant speed. What is the cars speed between checkpoints expressed as a unit rate? Checkpoint As time being 1:00pm total miles driven being 120 and checkpoint Bs time being 3:00pm and the total miles being 208

Average speed = (distance covered) / (time to cover the distance).

Average speed between the checkpoints =

distance between the checkpoints
divided by
time between the checkpoints.

Distance between the checkpoints =

(mileage at B) minus (mileage at A)

= (208) - (120) = 88 miles .

Time between the checkpoints =

(time at B) minus (time at A)

= (3:00 PM) - (1:00 PM) = 2 hours .

Average speed between the checkpoints =

(88 miles) / (2 hours)

= 44 miles per hour .

Checkpoint A-> time being 1:00pm total miles driven being 120 and

checkpoint B-> time being 3:00pm and the total miles being 208

The distance between two checkpoint A and B is 208 - 120 = 88 miles

Now the time between the two checkpoints = 3.00 - 1.00 = 2 hours

We need to find car speed between the checkpoints

We know Distance = speed * time

speed = (Distance)/(time)

Speed = (88)/(2)

Speed = 44 miles per hour
