If you use the process of elimination you should get your answer...
4(4) + 3(-1) = 13
16 + (-3) = 13
13 = 13

Therefore the ordered pair (4, -1) is on the graoh of the equation 4x + 3y = 13

Answer:

Option (a) is correct.

(4, -1) lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.

Explanation:

Given : Equation of line is 4x + 3y = 13

We have to find out of given options which ordered pair lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.

Consider the given equation of line 4x + 3y = 13.

Since, the ordered pair that satisfies the given equation will lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.

Consider

A) (4, -1)

Put x = 4 and y = -1 in LHS of equation 4x + 3y = 13

4 (4) +3(-1) = 16 - 3 = 13

LHS = RHS

Thus, (4, -1) lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.

B) (1, 6)

Put x = 1 and y = 6 in LHS of equation 4x + 3y = 13

4 (1) +3(6) = 4 + 18 = 22

LHS ≠ RHS

Thus, (1,6) does not lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.

C) (0, -3)

Put x = 0 and y = -3 in LHS of equation 4x + 3y = 13

4 (0) +3(-3) = -9

LHS ≠ RHS

Thus, (0,-3) does not lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.

D) (1, -3)

Put x = 1 and y = -3 in LHS of equation 4x + 3y = 13

4 (1) +3(-3) = 4 - 9 = 5

LHS ≠ RHS

Thus, (1, -3) does not lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.

Thus, (4, -1) lies on the graph of the equation 4x+3y = 13.
