monosaccharide, disaccharide, polysaccharide. Monosaccharide is the simplest form of sugar (glucose, fructose, gaalctose) and the simplest unit of carbohydrate. Disaccharide is made up of two simplest sugar while polysaccharide is made up of a long chain of simple sugars.

Monosaccharide is the basic unit of carbohydrate, it act as a monomer unit of carbohydrate which combine to forma large polymer molecules, it is the simplest form of sugar.

Example: Glucose, fructose

Disaccharide is the molecule which is made of two unit of monosaccharide which are linked together by glycosidic bond.

Example: Sucrose, lactose

Polysaccharide are made up of polymeric unit of carbohydrate which consists of long chain of monosaccharide unit.

Example: Starch, glycogen
