y>4x-3

To prove if (1, -3) is a solution for the inequality substitute in the inequality the x by 1 and the y by -3:

\begin{gathered} -3>4(1)-3 \\ -3>4-3 \\ -3>1 \end{gathered}

As -3 is not greather than 1, (1, -3) is not a solution for the inequality.

Then, the given statement is true
