If you would like to expand and simplify
3 * (x + 2) + 2 * (x - 1)
, you can do this using the following steps:
3 * (x + 2) + 2 * (x - 1) =
3 * x + 3 * 2 + 2 * x - 2 * 1
= 5 * x + 6 - 2 =
5 * x + 4
The correct result would be
5 * x + 4
.
