2/3 x + 5 = 1/2
Multiply each side by 2 : 4/3 x + 10 = 1
Multiply each side by 3 : 4 x + 30 = 3 <== equivalent equation
without fractions
Subtract 30 from each side: 4x = -27
Divide each side by 4 :
x =
-27/4 =
-6.75
