Lori has 18 new stamps to add to her collection. She displays the stamps on pages of an album in groups of either 3, 6, or 9 stamps. How many different ways can she display the 18 new stamps?

To do groups of 9, she could make 2 rows of 9. To do 3, she could do 6 rows of 3. Last, to do 6 she could do 3 rows of 6. :)

Answer: 4896 ways

Explanation:

This is a permutatiom problem, since order does matter.

18P3 = 18!/(18-3)!

=18 × 17 ×16 ×15! / 15!

=18×17×16

=4896
